The BMW X5M was finally unveiled at the 2009 New York Auto Show, as an addition to the "old" BMW X5. The new features on this model are a new V8 high-performance engine and an improved design, which reflects outstanding dynamism and athletic performances. The car has a six-speed automatic transmission controlled by an electronic gear selector lever on the center console, featured for the first time on a BMW M model. The manufacturer also developed a special suspension for its new model with Adaptive Drive featured as standard.
